About Us

Building trust through transparency, lived experience, and community-centered care.

Our Mission

Why We Exist

Spiritual Gratitude Recovery exists to create safe, sober spaces where individuals in recovery can rebuild stability, purpose, and community through peer support, wellness practices, and access to essential resources.

Our Vision

Where We're Headed

We envision a Wilmington where every person in recovery has access to a supportive community, safe housing, meaningful work, and the resources needed to thrive — not just survive.

Our Story

Founded on Lived Experience

Founded in North Carolina by individuals with lived experience in recovery and community service, Spiritual Gratitude Recovery was created to address the growing need for accessible, non-judgmental recovery spaces in the Wilmington area.

Our founders recognized that recovery extends far beyond the initial steps of sobriety. Lasting change requires a supportive community, structured programming, access to wellness resources, and opportunities for meaningful contribution.

Today, SGR operates as a community hub — a place where individuals can attend peer-led meetings, participate in wellness programs, access emergency support, and build the skills needed for long-term stability. Every program we offer is rooted in the understanding that recovery is a journey, and no one should walk it alone.
